Although we are a non profit amateur sport club we also look at ourselves as a service club. What we mean by this is that we like to give back to our community throughout the year. We do this a few different ways. We have food drives for the local food bank, we host team building programs for local businesses and we try host open paddles for those that may not otherwise have the opportunity.
Special Needs Events
For the last two years the members of the Fraser Valley Dragon Boat Club have had the oppurtunity to host a group of visually impaired children from throughout the Fraser Valley, Lowr Mainland and the Interior. The kids, along with their friends and teachers are given basic paddling instructions, are placed into the dragon boats and begin a fun morning of dragon boat racing. We are able to give the kids a great experience they might not otherwise get. The smiles and excitement is worth its weight in gold.

More information coming
The Cans for Canoe Drive started in 2008 to help the Agassiz Harrison Community Services restock their shelves during the summer season. Unfortunately demand for their services is needed all throughout the year not just around the holiday season.
The Harrison Dragon Boat Regatta has collected hundreds of pounds worth of food over the years. We encourage our paddling guests to bring a non-perishable canned good and help us fill the canoe to the rim.
